Tonight, we will load and tote equipment over to the field in anticipation of a performance. Please, please, please, dress for the weather; don't worry about black tops and jeans. Tomorrow, we need to move up our report to 3:00 at the High School. Brown trucks will leave at 3:15 to head to Johnston (and hopefully most roadies) and start the unloading process. The cube truck will head out with the busses - though kids will be taking their instruments on the bus with them to save us some time. We are doing a full show at Johnston (platforms and amplification), so we will need to unload and setup everything except uniforms. We will really need has many hands as possible for the reload/drive-to-Urbandale/unload. Our timeframe is tight here. (But I know we can do it!) I hate to suggest this, but the dinner break the kids have likely will NOT be our dinner break. I would encourage roadies to consider bringing something to eat while the band is warming up at Johnston or to plan on eating during the 8:30-9:00 range at Urbandale. Please let me know your questions tonight at the High School. Thanks for all of your help and for adjusting to this schedule! -----Original Message----- From: news-bounces at waukeebands.org [mailto:news-bounces at waukeebands.org] On Behalf Of [HS] Jeff Patterson Sent: Friday, October 02, 2009 12:33 PM To: news at waukeebands.org Subject: [News] Updated Urbandale Itinerary Hi Rain, Rain, Go Away..... This year the format is a bit different, and I have been working with Mr Duea to work out the details. Senior night always happens at the last home football game, which is usually after our competitive season is completed. We do an abbreviated half time show and honor our seniors at half time. Because this year it falls on the eve of our Valleyfest competition, I wanted to do a full run of the show. After working through details, here is what we came up with. Band Seniors and their parents will be recognized at pre game. We will do this at 20:00 minutes on the countdown clock. I would suggest being at the stadium no later than 7PM. Please meet at the north end of the home stands on the track. Following are times for roadies this week. Tomorrow( Friday 10/16) - We'll be trying to have a full run-through with sound during the morning practice. We'll start setting up at 6:30 am and run until about 8:30. Tomorrow night (10/16) around 7:30 pm, we'll have the pit truck available to load and take over to the stadium to leave overnight. (I'll pickup the one truck we have for the weekend.) Saturday - Students are to be dressed and ready by 2:30. We'll need uniform help in the High School by 1:45-2:00. Others should meet over at the garages at the field by 2:15 and we'll start setting up for our State performance. We'll get the pit unloaded and then setup the platforms, risers, and sound. We perform at 4:00 pm, so full crew should report by 3:30 over by the garages. (Bring your helmets!) Post performance we'll put the pit back on the trucks or cover with tarps and leave the platforms assembled. (depending on weather) Saturday evening, students are to be dressed and ready by 8:15, so we need uniform help by 7:30-7:45. We'll need help to move the pit at 8:15. Full crew should be available by the garages by 9:15 for our 9:45 perfomance. Post performance, we need to take all of our gear (including platforms) over to the high school to be staged for return to the bus barn. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
