Last Saturday was the busy and full day with the Cedar Rapids Lin-Mar and
Cedar Rapids Prairie contests, where the Warrior Regiment received 5th Place
in both contests and also received the Drum Major caption award at the
Prairie contest. The weather was pretty good most of the time, but we did
get a little damp at Prairie during warm-up, but it stopped when it was time
for the Regiment to take the field.

Events this week:

Thursday, September 28, 2006 Homecoming Parade - grades 9 - 12

4:30 pm Load percussion and large instruments on the truck at the High
School
5:00 pm Report time at Waukee Elementary School
6:00 pm Homecoming Parade - Warrior Regiment to dress in jeans and the
band t-shirt,
listen to the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

Parade ends at the Stadium - please plan on attending the BBQ at
the end of the
parade. Cost is $5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for students. The
Homecoming King
and Queen coronation and Powder Puff football games will follow
the BBQ.

  6:00 - 7:30 pm Booster Club Barbeque

7:30 pm Coronation Activities Begin at Football Field - Warrior Regiment
will play

Friday, September 29, 2006 Football Game vs Fort Dodge - Homecoming Game

5:45 PM Regiment members report to begin getting in uniforms
6:00 pm Equipment Roadies Report - Load truck with equipment to go to the
field
6:30 pm Regiment is to be ready and outside for warm up
7:00 pm Regiment troops over to the football field. Parents are invited
to make a
tunnel as the band crosses Ashworth and cheer them on! (This
also stops the
traffic to get the Regiment across the street.)

Friday night Performance will include:
  Pre-game
Halftime, Waukee Warrior Regiment 2006 marching show "Jekyll and Hyde"

Helpers are needed after Pre-game and again before and after half time to
assist with plumes. Equipment people are needed to unload the truck at the
football field, and then to roll the equipment into the pit area as the band
takes the field for the halftime show. (This is good practice as we prepare
for contests.)

After the halftime show, equipment roadies load the truck, then head back to
the band room to unload. Uniform roadies go to the school and assist with
getting uniforms checked in.

We still need volunteers to fill in areas at the State Marching Contest and
Waukee Marching Invitational on October 14, 2006. The Volunteer Schedule is
on the Band website at www.waukeebands.org, please take a look at it and
volunteer for one of the open positions. You can volunteer by sending at
email to volunteers at waukeebands.org or call Kathleen Eastman at 240-5919.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding any of the above.

Thanks,
