Remember to dress warm for the weather, it is sounding like it will be cold Friday night for the game. We will take the Regiment members coats and blankets to the field for their use during the football game.

Events this weekend:

Friday, October 13, 2006 Football Game vs Mason City

5:45 PM Regiment members report to begin getting in uniforms

6:00 pm Equipment Roadies Report - Load truck with equipment to go to the field

6:30 pm Regiment is to be ready and outside for warm up

7:00 pm Regiment troops over to the football field. Parents are invited to make

a tunnel as the band crosses Ashworth and cheer them on! (This also

stops the traffic to get the Regiment across the street.)

Friday night Performance will include:

  Pre-game

Halftime, Waukee Warrior Regiment 2006 marching show "Jekyll and Hyde"

Helpers are needed after Pre-game and again before and after half time to assist with plumes. Equipment people are needed to unload the truck at the football field, and then to roll the equipment into the pit area as the band takes the field for the halftime show.

After the halftime show, equipment roadies load the truck, then head back to the band room to unload. Uniform roadies go to the school and assist with getting uniforms checked in.

Saturday, October 14, 2006 - State Band Contest and Waukee Marching Invitational

Waukee is scheduled to perform at 4:05 pm for the State Marching Band contest and at 8:40 pm for the WMI. Come out and support the Regiment in their performances and see some other bands as well. In case you did not know the Iowa State Marching Band will also be performing at the WMI at 9:00 pm, just prior to the WMI awards ceremony.

I also want to extend my thanks to all who have volunteered to work at the State Marching Band Contest or the Waukee Marching Invitational. With your help we will once again be able to make this a successful event.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding any of the above.

Thanks,

Doug Meyer
