[News] Waukee Warrior Regiment - Roadie Report for Monday, October 2, 20 06

Thank you again to all who participated in getting the Warrior Regiment
ready for the Homecoming game last Friday night.

We have a busy Saturday ahead as The Waukee Warrior Regiment is heading into
their next contest of the year on Saturday, October 7th, as they perform
twice at ValleyFest.

The weather forecast is sounding like it could be warm, but it is still too
far out to be certain.  Roadies - remember that black sweatshirts and/or
coats are fine to wear as it gets cooler outside.  We still need everyone,
so please show up for both of the contest performances this weekend.


We will also need at least 2 parents to ride on each of the busses (and we
travel with 5 busses), so if you are planning on going please plan on riding
on one of the busses.


The itinerary for ValleyFest and Showdown on Saturday, October 7th, is as
follows and also as posted on the Band website: 
  
  9:30 am   Regiment members Rehearse on Waukee field

 10:00      Roadies Report to load the trucks, we will start loading the 
              Uniforms while the Regiment is rehearsing

 10:30      Lunch at School and load (bring your lunch, nobody leaves)

 11:30      Depart for West Des Moines

 11:45      Arrive and unload

  1:00 pm   Dressed and ready, head to Warm-up

  2:00      Gate time

  2:15      Performance

  3:45      Awards for the Day Show

  6:00      Dressed and ready, head to Warm-up

  7:10      Gate time

  7:24      Performance

 11:05      Awards

 11:45      Depart

 12:00 am   Arrive Home


Note the times above.  Be sure that you and your student(s) bring
appropriate clothing for the weather as it will cool down in the evening and
we will be staying for the awards ceremony.


Reminder for Roadies:

Roadies that move the percussion "Pit" equipment, on and off of the field
for performances dress attire is as follows:

   - an all black shirt, or t-shirt or sweatshirt.  Many wear the Waukee 
      black polo or crewneck sweatshirt,  purchased from Warrior World, 
      but it is not required.  
   - blue jeans 
   - Depending on the weather conditions the dress attire will change.  
      When it gets cold we do wear coats to stay warm.  The forecast is for
a little warmer
      weather this weekend, which will be good.
