[News] Uniform fittings at Band Camp

Uniforms
Uniform Fitting times have changed this year.  We will be fitting the
uniforms each day after camp is completed.  So on Monday - Thursday, we
will be at the school 3:45 - 6:00 to do fittings.  We will schedule times
on Friday 12:15 - 3:00 for those who absolutely can't be there on Mon -
Thurs.  

There are sign up sheets on the Band Room doors.  Students are expected
to get their names on a line that works for them.  We would like to use
the following schedule--- Monday is Seniors,  Tuesday is Juniors,
Wednesday is Sophomores, Thursday is Freshmen.  We will allow siblings to
come in together - since they usually are sharing a ride.

Shoes --- new shoes cost $28.00.  Students can order at the time they are
fitted or at Parent's night (Thurs.) 
The first football game is Sept 1 - Labor Day weekend, so the order will
be going in soon - please don't delay getting your order made.   Money
will be paid when they get the shoes - checks made payable to Waukee Band
Parents.   Used shoes cost $5.00 and the students need to have their
money to take a pair of shoes.  These are broken sizes, so if we don't
have your size, you will need to order a new pair.  We also do exchanges
of outgrown shoes for a different used pair, if the size is available.  

We have some new shoes in stock that we will sell for $24.00.  If one of
them works for you, it will save you a bit of money.  Shoes are generic,
so have Men's or Women's sizing for each pair.
        M 5 or W 7
        M 10 1/2
        M 7 or W 9
        M 11
        M 5 1/2 or W 7 1/2
        Color guard - W 9

Color guard shoes are ordered through Mrs. Ellis.  We do have some used
ones you can check for sizes - again $5.00 for used.   Color Guard shoes
can be worn for concert band.

Black band gloves -- new gloves cost $2.50.  Mr. Patterson will have a
supply and they will be purchased before the first football game.


Parent's Night is Thursday night of band camp at 7 PM.  Bring your lawn
chair and watch what the kids have learned during camp. We will have ice
cream treats, so come visit with the directors or other band parents.  
Warrior World will be open.  There will be opportunities to sign up for
the Oct. 14 State Marching Contest.  Also check out the Lost & Found box.
 You might find that winter coat that has come up missing!  

Kids - see you Monday morning, ON THE FIELD READY TO GO at 8 AM  (not
getting out of the car)  
Remember your lunch, sun screen, tennis shoes & socks, a hat, girls who
start out in spaghetti strap tops should have another shirt to cover up
-- we have had kids get very burned the first day and they are
uncomfortable the rest of camp.  Yes, it's going to be hot.  The ladies
will be there with lots of water, juice & cookies and the directors will
give them plenty of breaks.   Work on memorizing your music!!
