[News] Amendment to Waukee Band Parents Organization By-Laws to be Voted on at the Band Parent Meeting Sept. 7, 2006

As per discussion at the May 2006, Band Parent meeting the below amendment
to the By-Laws of the Waukee Band Parent Organization Waukee Community
Schools is being proposed to better align the members of the Board of
Directors with that of the grade levels currently in the school buildings
within the district.

As per the By-Laws this notice is being provided 10 calendar days prior to
the meeting at which the change will be voted upon.  


Article III
OFFICERS, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, AND COMMITTEES

Section 3- Board of Directors

Members of the Board of Directors will be:
A.	The four elected officers.
B.	Five parent members.  These parents shall, at a minimum, have two
representatives for the middle school/elementary program and the high school
program.
C.	The Past President and the entire instrumental music staff will
serve as ex-officio members of the board.
D.	A joint board meeting of the old and new members shall be held in
September of each year.

B.	Maximum of seven parent members of which, at a minimum, there should
be two representatives from the Middle School/Elementary programs, two
representatives from the Prairieview program and two representatives from
the High School program.
C.	The Past President and the entire instrumental music staff will
serve as ex-officio members of the board.
D.	A joint board meeting of the old and new members shall be held in
September of each year. 




This amendment will be voted on at the Band Parent meeting on September 7,
2006, at 7:00 pm in the High School Band Room.
